National Day of Mourning - April 28

My Son was killed on the job

April 28, what does this date mean to you!
“Mourn for the dead, fight for the living”
Companies have shared their logos, employees have written names on candles and workers have participated in a moment of silence. Each year on this day, we remember those who have lost their lives to workplace accidents. We have also chosen to recognize people who have been injured on the job, as well as at home. We are all affected by the loss of co-workers, friends and family members, either at work or at home. We also take every other day of the year to continue to think and practice safety at work and at home. Everyone is responsible for holding themselves and their employer to a higher standard when it comes to Health & Safety.

Let us all take a moment of silence for our lost brothers and sisters.

The United Steelworkers continue to fight for the Westray Miners and their families with a National Campaign “Stop the Killing, Enforce the Law” asking for your support to hold companies / corporations accountable. What can you do?
Sign the petition, talk to co-workers, family and friends to help spread the word!
